Tourism sector will receive financial and promotional assistance

The government says small and medium enterprises in the tourism sector will receive financial and promotional assistance to refurbish their properties.
Funding sourced from the European Investment Bank will be extended through the DFCC Bank and the Bank of Ceylon. The Plan of Action to support Small and Medium Enterprises was approved by Tourism Minister Milinda Moragoda after industry officials met the Minister to set-up the eligibility criteria in this connection.
The eligibility for support will be determined by the advisory committee on the SME sector appointed by the Minister and institutions registered with Sri Lanka Tourism Development will be eligible for this promotional plan.
