UNP and SLMC will boycott EPC inaugural sessions

General Secretary of the UNP Tissa Attanayake says the selected UNP and
SLMC candidates for the Eastern Provincial Council will take oaths before Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe tomorrow in Colombo.
However the Councilors will boycott tomorrow’s inaugural session of the EPC.
Replying media quarries he said the UNP and the SLMC have decided not to attend to the inaugural sessions of the EPC. The UNP sources said the Government has failed to stand by its promises made at the recent Eastern provincial Council (EPC) elections to bring peace and prosperity to the people of the East.
The inaugural sessions of the EPC would be held on 6th June . After 20 years the public representatives would admit the administration of the Eastern province.
