UNP condemns attacks on MPs’ offices
posted by Editor at 10:08 PMThe UNP yesterday condemned Wednesday night’s attacks on the offices of Parliamentarians Range Bandara in Anamaduwa and Ranjith Aluvihare in Dambulla.
In a statement yesterday the UNP described the attacks as a ploy to scare the people even before fixing the dates for the proposed elections to the two Provincial Councils. It said the Government was not in a favourable situation at the two elections and was inclined to resort to such activities.
Even on earlier occasions the Government had resorted to similar acts during the Wayamba and Eastern Provincial elections and the UNP called upon the people to unite to defeat such terrorist activities.
