UNP has no right to conduct protest campaign against the high cost of living

The National Freedom Alliance says that the UNP has no right to conduct protest campaign against the high cost of living in parallel to rising of fuel prices in the world market.
The alliance said the UNP is responsible for the current high cost of living faces by the people. These facts were revealed at a media briefing held in Colombo today under the patronage of its secretary parliamentarian Nandana Gunatilleke.
A senior leader of the alliance parliamentarian Piyasiri Wijeyanayake said the Petroleum Corporation had to loss additional income due to the privatisation process of UNP regime. Especially, they have given the supply of fuel to ship for the private sector.

The government had to bear the loss of benefits due to the privatisation. Parliamentarian Nandana Gunatilleke has pointed that the UNP government charged tax from the Petroleum products. He also said the government should take measures to hand over the institutions belongs to the Petroleum corporation which were privatised.
