Abuse of State property by Govt. violating election laws

Despite several warnings by the Elections Commissioner (EC) against the misuse of State property in the election campaign , the Government has continued to flagrantly and deliberately violate the laws, said UNP Gen .Secretary and M.P. Tissa Attanayake at a media briefing in Colombo .
In the past few days, ahead of the forthcoming elections, the violations have increased rapidly. The Elections Commissioner whose powers are crippled without an Elections Commission being duly appointed by the Govt. had instructed the UNP to challenge these violations in a Court of law, Attanayake, exhorted.
