Apparel South Asia Conference to be held in November in Lanka

Sri Lanka is proud to host the first ever Apparel South Asia Conference which will be held on the 5th and 6th of November 2008 at the Trans Asia Hotel in Colombo.

This event is initiated by the Sri Lanka Apparel Institute and has the support of the Apparel Industry in Sri Lanka as well as the support of the Joint Apparel Association Forum. The Conference theme is “Beyond 2010 – Challenges and Opportunities”.

This Conference will be the first of a unique annual event planned and executed to meet some of the urgent needs of the South Asian Apparel Manufacturer and Exporter.
Apparel South Asia Conference aims to achieve this objective by having high profile world leaders in the apparel sector exchange ideas with the manufacturing and exporting community in this Region. It would be the place where the meeting of people and meeting of minds with similar interests will take place and will help formulate strategies for the challenging future ahead.

The target audience for this event will be Apparel Manufactures and Exporters from the South Asian region, namely India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Over 300 delegates from the south Asian region are expected to participate at this initial conference. The conference programme will commence with brief Country papers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka followed by a panel discussion. The Country representatives will form the panel which will be further strengthened by Industry champions from these Countries.
