Berty’s goon who came to attack Anuradhapura UNP office nabbed

United National Party (UNP) supporters nabbed the leader of a gang of goons linked to United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Chief Minister candidate Berty Premalal Dissanayaka and handed over him to the police. The suspect led the team that came to attack the UNP office in Lake Side Anuradhapura.

Mohammed Rizmy, the media spokesman of UNP Chief Minister candidate Janaka Perera, said that around 7.15 PM Friday (11), the band of thugs entered the UNP office and the leader of them damaged the decorations, two chairs and an electric bulb.
The UNP supporters who came to know about the attack rushed into the office to see that the thugs were fleeing in the vehicle they came. The leader of the team who was drunk failed to escape and he was nabbed by the UNP supporters. They informed Anuradhapura police and handed over him after the police officers arrived in there.

The suspect is one Rowland, a route inspector of Transport Authority. He was admitted to Anuradhapura hospital after recording statements.
