Boys arrested for stealing PM’s security staffer’s mobile phone
posted by Editor at 10:47 AMThree boys, who are alleged to have stolen a cellular phone belonging to a member of the security staff of the Prime Minister, when the vehicle he was returning in after duty was stopped at the traffic lights at Grandpass Junction, were arrested by Police. Police also recovered the cellular phone.
The suspects were yesterday produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Ajith Anavaratne. The Magistrate ordered them to be released on personal bail of Rs. 30,000 for which their mothers signed as sureties. In addition the Magistrate called for a probation report of the suspects.
IP Dasanayake of Grandpass Police, Prosecuted. Attorney-at-Law Anton Senanayake who appeared for the suspects said that one of the suspects was a student of an international school.
