British foreign official to visit Sri Lanka on Monday
posted by Editor at 9:56 AMThe British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs for the Africa, Asia and the UN, Lord Mark Malloch-Brown will arrive in Sri Lanka on Monday (14) for a four-day official visit.
During his visit Lord Malloch-Brown is scheduled to hold discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe, and other government officials.
He is also scheduled to visit the Eastern Province and meet the newly appointed Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chanthirakanthan. This is Lord Malloch-Brown’s first visit to Sri Lanka after becoming State Minister. He has visited Sri Lanka twice before as Deputy Secretary-General of the UN.
