Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva had strongly objected to obtaining conditional loans from the World Bank for legal and judicial reforms.
The international lending institution had granted around 20 million USD (approx. Rs.2,140 m) in recent times.
However, the WB has attached several conditions if it is to continue disbursing such loans, the CJ said.
