Do not give bribes to the Police Officials say NEW IGP

Newly appointed IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne asks the public not to give bribes to the Police Officials to attend their complaints or any other legal services rendered by the Police.
He said most of cases are reported about Police Officials and he said that he wanted to stop these illegal activities.
Assuming duties he pledges to provide efficient service for the public under the concept of prestigious police service. The IGP added that a systematic programme for promotion of police officers would be introduced immediately. He also said the opportunities will be provided to police officers to continue their higher education and post graduates. He pledged to give fullest support for the initiative taken by the forces to eliminate terrorism.
