"Dr" Mervyn in action again

Minister Mervyn Silva has stormed a shop owned by a JVP member in the Aralaganwila area of Polonnaurwa and opened fire and caused damage to the shop on Sunday night, the JVP said.

The MP and 25 others had stormed the shop in the Nuwaragala area and carried out the attack.

The owner of the shop, Kithsiri Gayan has lodged a complaint at the Aralaganwila police claiming that he was threatened by the minister not to engage in political campaigns during the upcoming provincial council election.

Police said they are investigating the case.
