Five terrorist killed in clashes in Mannar

Troops of Sri Lanka Army Task Force 1 operating on the Mannar battlefront engaged a tractor transporting armed LTTE cadres this morning (July 10). According to the defence sources, the ground troops have detected the vehicle in the Karaimoddi area, South of Vidattaltivu and called in artillery support around 7 a.m. Ground troops have claimed that 3 terrorists were killed in the incident, the sources added.

Meanwhile, soldiers marching towards the Vidattaltivu LTTE stronghold claimed to have gunned down 2 LTTE cadres in the Puthukkamam area.
