JVP activists attacked at Rakwana
posted by Editor at 11:24 PMThe JVP yesterday said a group of supporters of a former minister of the Sabaragamuwa PC contesting the August 23 election to the Sabaragamuwa PC in the early hours of yesterday had attacked two JVP activists at Pahala Kotagala in the Rakwana police area.
A senior party spokesman said the attackers had threatened to kill them if they continued to work for the JVP. Police said that the JVP had lodged a complaint with Rakwana police. According to the complaint, about 12 persons had pounced on the JVPers who had been pasting posters to announce a propaganda rally scheduled to be held in Ratnapura tomorrow (22).
