Kavusikulam murder suspects bailed out

A corporal and five soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army who were detained on suspicion for killing five Tamil youths in the Kavusikulam area after abducting them in a white-coloured van were released on sureties amounting to Rs. 500,000 each.
Vavuniya High Court judge, J. Vishwanadan ordered to release the suspects - Harry Bandara, Ruwan Sudarshana, Anuradha Dhananjaya Wijekoon, Samantha Udaya Kumara Kodikara, Asanka Pushpakumara and Sudarshana Kulathunga on bail.
These SLA personnel attached to the Veppamkulam Army camp were accused of committing abduction and murder in the Kausikulam area near Veppamkulam in early November 2007.
Under the directions of the Attorney General, the CID arrested the suspects and detained them in the custody of the military police.
The case filed against the suspects identifies T. Kapil Dev, Vigneshwaran Kiritheepan, Vijaya Kumar Jeyandan, James Gajendran and Manoharan Jakuharan as the slain Tamil youths.
