Minister’s goons attack JVP members

Supporters of a Government Minister are alleged to have set upon a group of JVP supporters at Uadgama in Embilipitiya around 12.30 a.m. yesterday. A JVP member, Ranjith Jayatunga, has been admitted to Embilipitiya Hospital.
In a complaint to the Embilipitiya Police, a JVP activist Nissanka Udayasagara has said the assailants had threatened them stating that they won’t allow the JVP to do politics. They will assault JVPers today and kill them tomorrow, he said.
