Police arrest 92

In a search operation conducted by the Police at Thalikulam, on the Vavuniya-Mannar road, on Monday night 92 people were arrested, including three women. The arrested people were being questioned and some of them have already been released, the HQI said.

He said the search operation was conducted to look for hidden weapons and also to find out whether any unauthorized persons were being harboured. After the operation, nearly 300 people, all kith and kin of those arrested, gathered at the Vavuniya Police Station to seek their release.
