Transworks Square in Fort to be developed

A Cabinet proposal to develop Transworks Square comprising four acres and 37 perches of land in the commercial hub of Colombo has been approved by Cabinet, it was announced today.
The area has been ear marked for two multi storied buildings. A committee comprising officials of the UDA, the Central Bank and the Finance Ministry will now examine the viability of developing the area under a public/private partnership. The proposal was put to Cabinet by the President and Minister of Urban Development Dinesh Gunawardena.
