Two thousands Civil Vigilant Committee members will assist the Police during the Perahara period.

Two thousand Members of the Civil Vigilant Committee of the Kandy area will be deployed to protect the masses during the Perahara period.Additional Police personnel also deployed for the security of this Esala Pageant. Speaking to media in Friday evening , D.IG. of the Central Province Kingsly Ekanayake said all security arrangements are finalized and he seeks public vigilance and support to protect the masses
