John Keells Holdings’ Consumer Foods Sector yet again bagged two Silver
Awards at last week’s 16th annual “NCE Export Awards 2007” for the second consecutive year.
The two Silver Awards in the ‘Extra Large Business Group Category’ went to Keells Food Products PLC and Ceylon Cold Stores PLC for reaching significant milestones in their respective business activities in the international arena Organized by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka for the 16th consecutive year, the NCE
Awards are Sri Lanka’s most prestigious awards which recognise and reward the outstanding export performance of companies which provide goods and services from Sri Lanka.

The JKH Consumer Foods Sector is home to some of Sri Lanka’s strongest and most popular food and beverage brands, all of them being market leaders in their respective categories. The Keells Foods brand of processed meats is considered a
“Preferred Brand” by thousands of discerning consumers, and, by almost all star class hotels and catering institutions in Sri Lanka.

Manager Exports for JKH Consumer Goods Christy Fernando said, “Keells Foods further consolidated its strong market presence in India, Dubai and Maldives and went on to record a 26% growth in export sales during the Financial Year 2007/2008”.

Elephant Soft Drinks with its value added portfolio of sub brands, together with Elephant House Ice Creams, have reached many international markets through the taste preferences of numerous Sri Lankans domiciled in various parts of the globe.

“Elephant Soft Drinks now commands a significant presence in the international arena. Elephant Ginger Beer made from locally grown natural ayurvedic ginger continues to make inroads to many international markets. The distinct flavour and medicinal properties of this product have captured the attention of the rapidly growing
