A large crowd gathered in most famous Sri Lankan hill country, Nuwara Eliya to catch the skills of local horces.
According to the Sri Lanka Turf Club, the organizing party of the horse races, Nuwara Eliya city was packed as the country’s most prestigious race, the 2009 class 1 Governor's Cup over 10 furlongs and Queen's Cup horse races were held last evening. It is the 123rd edition of the Governor's Cup this year.
British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka was also among the participants in the event.
The Nuwara Eliya turf season began on April 4th and another meet will be held on 18th of this month.
In addition the Nuwara Eliya city was radiating as the springtime dawned with the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.
