A protest campaign against the attack on JVP Member for Maharagama MC Stanley Perera by thugs of Western PC Minister Upali Kodikara was held by the JVP today (23rd). The protest campaign held with the leadership of JVP Parliamentarian for Colombo District Sunil Handunneththi was participated by a large number of people. The campaign held in Maharagama town demanded that thugs of the government should be punished.

Arrest thug minister and his wife who have taken the law and order for a ride!

What democracy when people are attacked at Kodikara’s house and handed over to Police?

Isn’t the sensitive leader aware of any of this unjust?

Speaking to the media JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunneththi said the JVP Member for Maharagama MC was abducted by the thugs of the government who were infuriated by the defeat of the budget proposals, took him to the residence of Upali Kodikara. Assaulted him brutally and handed over to the police. The police have been silent regarding these thug attacks. He said the protestors call upon the authorities to arrest the thug minister and his wife and protect democracy.
