Another batch of Sri Lanka army troops Haiti bound for peacekeeping |

The 11th contingent of Sri Lankan army troops for the United Nations peace keeping mission in Haiti ceremonially bid farewell this morning at the Sri Lanka light Infantry regimental parade ground in Panagoda army camp.
The Latest batch of Sri Lanka Army troops consists of 52 officers and 697 Other Ranks selected from various regiments including Sri Lanka Light Infantry officers and soldiers being the majority.
The contingent is due to depart on 31 December to relieve troops already deployed in Haiti and continue UN peace keeping missions assigned to Sri Lankan military.
Major General Daya Ratnayake, the chief guest on the occasion received the Guard of Honour of UN peace keepers commanded by Colonel KJ Jayaweera.
