At least 34 persons were injured when the Colombo - Vavuniya mail train derailed at Galgamuwa early this morning, police said.

The last three compartments of the train had derailed.

Eight persons were rushed to the Anuradhapura Hospital and the others to the Galgamuwa Hospital.
