Puducherry, Tamizhar Desiya Iyyakkam leader and Convenor of the Sri Lankan Tamils Protection Movement Pazha Nedumaran today strongly condemned the Tamil Nadu government for invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against film director Seeman.
Talking to newspersons after visting Seeman in the central prison here, he alleged that this was a bid by the state government to frighten those who raise their voice in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils.
Claiming that Seeman did nothing against the country other than speaking in support of Lankan Tamils and no violence had erupted anywhere as a result of his speech, he said in these circumstances, invoking NSA against Seeman was purely an 'anti democratic' act. Mr Nedumaran urged the Tamil Nadu government to revoke cases against Seeman and release him immediately. |
