Former chief minister of Sri Lanka WPC to act as tutor again |

Reginald Cooray, former Chief minister of the Western Province today said that he has decided to resume his first career of his life once again and will serve the nation as a tutor.
He said that he will not accept any ministerial portfolio of the Provincial Council, but will remain as a back seat councilor. Reginald Cooray was a private English tutor in the country for many years and before entering the political stream. He managed to get highest preferential votes in Kalutara District on the ruling party at the last Saturday's Western PC polls, but it was not enough to select as the new Chief Minister of the Province. Prasanna Ranatunga, former Test cricket player will be the new Chief Minister of Western Province as he, representing Gampaha district, managed to get highest preferential votes. |
