Speaking at a ceremony held to open a pandal erected at Thorana Junction at Kelaniya Minister Mervin Silva said, “ King Dutugamunu passed away looking at Ruwanwelisaya. I’m proud that Kelaniya has got my maximum service. When I die I would die by having my eyes on sacred Kelaniya. After me my son would come before the people of Kelaniya. I’m confident that people at Kelaniya would accept him.

We should give up anger and hatred. The hatred I had with ‘Sirasa’ is over from today. I invite ‘Sirasa’ to work together. Let’s see whether ‘Sirasa’ would work well,” said Minister Mervin Silva.
