The Chennai police have arrested a four-member gang for kidnapping a Sri Lankan Tamil who was in the city on a holiday. The Indian Rs 9 lakh paid to the gang by a person who wanted his rival P Shanmugavel abducted has been recovered.

According to information it is informed that Kumaran Pathmanathan who was arrested by the government, is not under the control of military but he is in the custody of Criminal Investigation unit. While Gottabaya gave an interview to a local English media, he made this statement.
