All twenty prisoners who were admitted to the hospital following the clash at Welikada Magazine Prison had suffered injuries below the knee, hospital sources told Ada Derana. Sources further claimed that it is suspected that the injuries were caused from gun shots.

The prison official who was admitted to the hospital has sustained injuries after being pelted with stones.
