President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse’s decision to play at the cricket match played simultaneous with IIFA Indian International Awards ceremony between Sri Lankan Cricket stars and Bollywood cinema stars surprised many.

He joined the team led by Kumar Sangakkara only after the team had won one match. Also, a player had to be removed from the team to accompany Mr. Rajapakse. Namal Rajapakse also barged into the vehicle carrying super star Hrithik Roshan when he drove around the grounds to greet the spectators.
