This morning ground frost was seen in Nuwara Eliya as the temperature in the district had fallen down to 3.8 degrees celsius at dawn.

Except for a few light showers in the Eastern and Uva provinces mainly fair weather is expected over most parts of the island. Ground frost in the Nuwara Eliya District can occur in the early morning hours. The Meteorological Department says that the temperature will return to normal in the next few days.
